A year of Fair4All: 2020-2021

A year of Fair4All. A lot of happy applicants, and lots of new Card Partners too. Here's to another year!

The Fair4All Card has it’s first birthday!

We first launched the Fair4All Card scheme in October 2020 and we’ve grown a lot since then.

Here is a quick review of our first year.

I can’t believe it’s been a year since we first launched the Fair4All Card Scheme.

You may be thinking “But I thought you launched in July?”, and you would be right. Much like the Queen, we have two birthdays!

When we launched the scheme a year ago, we hadn’t anticipated the November lockdown to put quite such a spanner in the works. We had to put the scheme on a slight hiatus while we worked tirelessly behind the scenes to get Partners signed up, Ambassadors ready to film videos, Card designs created and so much more.

So, a year on from our first launch, what have we achieved so far?

We’ve expanded our team a lot! We now have four new volunteers ready to help us. Two of them will be helping Freya and I to manage your Fair4All Card applications, so make sure you’ve got your application sent in! The other two volunteers are helping our wonderful Alicia with contacting potential Fair4All Card Partners and getting them to complete our official training.

We also said goodbye and good luck to our first Project Navigator, Angie. With her support we made amazing progress over the year, and we couldn’t have done it without her. Now that the Fair4All Card Scheme is off the ground at a flying start, she moved over to another project to help them get the same success. Thank you, Angie, for everything!

But that’s not all! Freya and I have processed a lot of cards since we launched – not bad for a team of two balancing disability, work and education at the same time. We’ve also got many more being processed, and we’re hoping that some of our upcoming ideas will bring in even more applicants too!

Alicia has been doing incredible work liaising with our Partners. Her “don’t take no for an answer” attitude is opening so many doors for us, and we can’t wait to share with you more about the work she’s been doing behind the scenes.

We also launched our Social Distance Lanyards, and have consistently listened to what you as the disabled people of Buckinghamshire want to see from the Fair4All Card Scheme. Back in August 2020, we did a poll to ask if a card like this would help, and we were amazed by the support our idea had. So, a year on, what do you think? Is the Fair4All Card Scheme what you need it to be? Let us know in the comments – we love hearing from you!

As you know, we’ve also set up our Facebook and Instagram pages, providing you with regular content, answering the questions you have. I can’t wait to learn more about making these posts over the next year.

So as you can see, we’ve achieved a lot this year, but what have we got planned next?

Well, we can’t reveal too much yet, but we are working with more and more Partners, and we have plans to do an upgrade to our application process soon to allow us to take on even more applications!

You’ll need to follow us on Facebook or Instagram to keep up to date, but we promise that we have a lot more exciting things in store that we can’t wait to tell you about.

We’ve all loved working on the Fair4All Card Scheme for the last year, and here’s to another successful year to come!
