“Since I joined the Reach4Work Digital Team in January, I have been working both on my own and with a the Digital Team, to create Videos. We usually work as a team in co-production, creating different components for the final video I have worked on several different videos. In blog I would like to talk to about a video we have just finished about Agile Project Management, to add to an article the team had previously written.
Agile Project Management is how we work together to collaborate our teams tasks, ensuring we meet our goals and objectives. To learn more about Agile Project Management and how we use it in the Reach4Work Digital Team, please read this article.
The main stages to making a video are:
- Create a story board and script – we come together as a team to create a story board and script for the video.
- Screen shots – we take any screenshots we need to go in the video.
- Graphics – We use Canva to create any graphics or animated graphics we need.
- Creating the video – once we have all the different parts, it is my job to create the video in Clipchamp.
- Getting approval – once the team are happy with the video we have to send it off to our Website & Comms team for approval.
During making the videos we have lots of team meetings, to check everyone is happy with the videos progress, sometimes we have to talk to other teams too. It can take a while to finish a video, but it feels great when it is done. Please see my most recent video here, or in the embed below at the end of this page.
During my time at BuDS with the Reach4Work Team, is giving me valuable work experiences, helping me learn new skills and develop my existing video edited skills. I am also learning how to work as part of a collaborative remote team. It has also helped me to improve my motivation and confidence to work independently, which can sometimes be difficult when working remotely. These are all valuable skills that will help me to get employment either now or in the future.
My Project Coordinator is also going to support me to do a Certificate in Employability Skills Distance Learning Level 1 course. I am hoping to sign up for this course next week.”
