WhizzFizzFest 2022

BuDS’ Fair4All Events project is helping Buckinghamshire Council to make WhizzFizzFest 2022 more accessible and inclusive for disabled people. Read on to learn more.

Support from BuDS

Disabled and Covid-Careful viewing area: BuDS will be providing and staffing a viewing area for all disabled people outside Metro Bank near the Market Square entrance to Friars Square Shopping Centre. The viewing area has a good view of the WhizzFizzFest Main Stage in the Market Square. There will be chairs for those that need them, but no overhead cover. Face coverings must be worn in this viewing area unless you are exempt.

Entry to the viewing area will be limited to disabled people and essential carers. Numbers may be limited for Covid-safety. Open from 9.30 am to 4 pm.


Parade Viewing Area: BuDS will be providing and staffing a parade viewing area for all disabled people and their families and friends. The viewing area will be at the bottom of Market Square in front of the old court house. It will open at 10 am and close after the parade has finished. You will have a very good view of the parade as it passes by.

There will be chairs for those that need them, but no overhead cover. Face coverings must be worn in this viewing area unless you are exempt.


Emergency Quiet Space: BuDS will providing and staffing an emergency quiet space for children or adults who urgently need a safe space to calm down, for example autistic or learning disabled people. The quiet space will be near the John Hampden statue, close to the junction with Cambridge Street. There will be a range of sensory aids, ear defenders, etc, and the BuDS volunteers will be experienced and understanding.

For Covid safety, entry to the quiet space will be strictly limited and adults (unless exempt) will be expected to wear face coverings. The space will be ventilated and air quality will be regularly monitored.


Access, Support and Help: BuDS volunteers will be out and about across the Town Centre during WhizzFizzFest. If you need any help as a disabled person, just stop them and ask. Or you can go to the viewing area outside Metro Bank and ask any of the volunteers there. We are here to help!
