Be Part of the Celebration!

BuDS would like to give you the chance to be part of the Flame Celebration. You could get the chance to hold and pass the Paralympic Heritage Flame itself!

Parade of Light

Disability organisations and groups and disabled people with their family, friends and carers can take part in the Parade of Light, a bright and colourful carnival procession of hundreds of disabled people, carrying flags and banners especially made for the event. The Parade of Light will travel from the Waterside Theatre to Vale Park at 7.50 pm, led by the Paralympic Heritage Flame carried by Bob O’Shea, former Paralympic Rugby captain, accompanied by the Toque Tambor Samba band and all of our carnival dancers.

Register to take part in the Parade at http://bit.ly/ParadeofLight

Passing of the Flame

Disabled and non-disabled people can themselves hold and pass on the  Paralympic Heritage Flame in its distinctive Rio Torch, as the Flame is symbolically united with the people of Bucks. Every disabled person who takes part in the Parade is automatically given this opportunity. Other people – disabled and non-disabled – can join in by applying for a Golden Flame Ticket.
