If you are struggling to pay your Water Bill you may be able to get help through two schemes run by Thames Water.
Waterhelp (until April 2020, scheme is known as WaterSure Plus)
If you live in a low-income household (earning below £16,105 a year) you may be eligible for a discount, currently 50% on your whole bill. Thams In order to qualify, they will need to check your details and verify your income.
If you are on a water meter but find it hard to save water because you have a large family or water-dependent medical condition, Thames Water may be able to cap your bills at the average price based on what other customers pay (£395 in 2020/21).
To qualify for WaterSure, someone in the household must receive a means tested benefit (see below), AND have a medical condition that requires extra water, OR have three or more children under the age of 19 in the household for whom you claim Child Benefit
Qualifying benefits for WaterSure: Child Tax Credit (receiving more than the family element); Housing Benefit; Income-based Job seeker’s Allowance; Income Support; Pension Credit; Working Tax Credit; Universal Credit

Some Buckinghamshire residents in the north east of the county are supplied by Anglia Water. Anglia Water also offer assistance to low income households through their LITE scheme.
